Laidley Market Report

522 head were sold at Stariha Auctions Laidley cattle sale on Thursday the 9th July. Feeder, backgrounder and weaner steers were in high demand, selling to excellent rates. Good quality heifers met strong competition, in particular the younger Euro heifers. The cow market was also improved, selling to a strong market.

  • Lance Jones, Derrymore, sold Santa/ Hereford heifers for $2360 & $2120, cows for $2150, weaner steers for $1500 & $1380 and vealer heifers for $1000.
  • Mark Sanders, Rockside, sold Angus feeder steers for $2430 and cows for $2060.
  • Ian Lindenmayer, Mt Sylvia, sold a Charolais bull for $3400, milk tooth heifers for $2130, cows for $2140 and cows and calves for $2225.
  • Metcalf Farms, Gatton, sold Santa cows for $2060, heifers for $1940 and young weaner steers for $1320.
  • University of Qld sold Angus/ Hereford cross feeder steers for $2160.
  • Brightview Holdings sold a line of Santa cross backgrounder steers for $2000.
  • Lindsey & Silvia Logan, Mulgowie, sold Charbray feeder steers for $2380 and backgrounder steers for $2070.
  • Glentate Pty Ltd, Brightview, sold Santa/ Hereford weaner steers for $1400.
  • Colleen Zischke, Gatton, sold quality Charolais cross weaner steers for $1790 and heifers for $1680 & $1560.
  • Fred & Lexi Scott, Veradilla, sold a line of Limousin yearling steers for $1830.
  • Darren & Kate Ryan, Ravensbourne, sold Charbray weaner steers for $1760.
  • Lehmann Family, Coolana, sold lines of young Droughtmaster cross steers for $1230 & $1080 and vealer heifers for $900.
  • Dan & Alison Curtin, Mt Whitestone, sold Charbray weaner steers for $1460, steer calves for $1190 and heifer calves for $1000.

  • Gerry & Beryl Luck, Blenheim, sold Charbray heifer calves for $840.
  • Bos Indicus Cattle, Mt Tarampa, sold a line of light Brahman heifer calves for $880.
