WOODFORD MARKET REPORT

445 head were sold at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. Fat and store cows continued to sell to a strong market, as did quality steers and vealer heifers. Plainer and younger cattle were easier, as the dry weather starts to take effect.

  • Pyman Pastoral, Peachester, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $1260 & $1060.
  • Anna & Nicholas Murray, Mt Delaney, sold Droughtmaster steers for $1320.
  • Trevor Carberry, Elaman Creek, sold Murray Grey weaner steers for $1090.
  • Darrel Fogg, Mount Samson, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for $1100.
  • Nedine Ogilvie, Commissioners Flat, sold Charbray weaner males for $1040.
  • Helen Thornton, Kilcoy, sold lines of Brangus calves, with steers making $740 and heifers $620.
  • Troy Hennessey, Mt Mee, sold Charolais forward store cows for $1440.
  • Troy & Calli Gault, Woolmar, sold young Charbray store steers for $800.
  • Bernard Spilbury, Balmoral Ridge, sold a line of young Droughtmaster steers for $910.
  • Rod & Elana Hayes, Cherry Creek, sold Droughtmaster steer calves for $890.
  • Ian Kent, Samsonvale, sold Blonde cross steer calves for $880.
  • Annette Pickering, Mt Mee, sold vealer heifers for $810.
  • John Harrison Logging, Woolmar, sold Brahman cross store cows for $1290 and heifers for $840.
